Videomapping in Historical Monuments

Original show specially created for Muralha de Lagos, the former Cais da Ribeira.
The creation is based upon the reference of the philosopher Agostinho da Silva, to Lagos as a Departure Cape, comparing it to Cape Canaveral.

The film invites the public to cover a journey since the first human occupation traces, going though the maritime expansion until today, in a present that continues inseparable from the idea of departure and arrival "Cape" and the endless relationship with the sea.

The presentation of the film is integrated in the Discoveries Festival.

18 years after the departure of Orlando Pantera, the artist who reinvented Cape Verde’s traditional music, the influences of his music at a global scale continue to be evident in several music styles, from tradition to modernity.

In a tribute to the artist who bridged to the voice and the guitar the Batuko, Tabanka and Funaná rhythms, join Darlene and Arlindo Barreto, daughter and brother of Orlando Pantera, the musicians Edgar Valente and Luiz Gabriel Lopes, the producer from Algarve Sickonce, the batucadeiras Finka Pé and the special invited artist Dino D’Santiago, in an original show which combines the traditional Cape Verde’s music and languages close to electronic music.

A meeting around history and the landscape and environmental wealth, here represented by Monchique’s monumental trees which are giant marks and live references in the local memory.

A meeting that gathers experts on monumental trees and their classification and experts on areas related to contributions of local resources for the Globalisation Sites.

The lecture is followed by a field trip integrated in the Monchique’s Rota das Árvores Monumentais.

Rita Pereira, artist and mentor of the project "Rita os Meus Pés", presents a sculpture created for Monchique Village.

The proposal came from the idea of Monchique's resources importance for the Globalisation Sites. The inspiration for the sculpture was the Araucaria, a tree which is one of the most important marks of Monchique.

The materials used are limestone and local woods, elements which, overtime, will be embed in the surrounding landscape, becoming part of it.

Nancy Vieira chooses the most traditional sounds of Cape Verde’s music as basis of her musical path. From the melancholy and “saudade” of “morna” - kind of music which is applying for Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity -  to the happiness of “coladeira” which describes the Cape Verdean. With her remarkable voice and a radiant personality, Nancy Vieira has been invited to perform duets with some names of Portuguese music – Camané, Rui Veloso and Ala dos Namorados, among others.
A tribute show to Monchique Magic Forest full of audio, contemplative and nocturnal emotions.

With training in Gastronomic Sciences, he presents us an original programme created for the Cultural Week, which joins the cultural heritage to the gastronomic heritage from the regions of Azores and Algarve.

What do these two regions have in common and how do they enrich the Atlantic's history of gastronomy?

A show created for the Sagres Fortress focused in its history, geographic context and colossal monumentality.

"Where the land finishes and the sea starts”. The land’s end of ancient texts, a Promontorium Sacrum and the former home of Gods. In a contemporary perspective, we will be invited to discover, through a fantastic journey, the mysticism paths and the magic of this place which continues to impel travellers in a continuous pilgrimage at a global scale.

Born in Quarteira, Dino D'Santiago, after several art projects, wanted to head for the place from where came the sounds which he listened at home. He found his voice in Cape Verde, creating a sound between the “funaná" and the “afro-house”.

The hymn "Nova Lisboa" and "Nós Funaná" are part of the "MunduNôbu", album released in 2018, with production of "KalafEpalanga" and the British Seiji.

Dino D’Santiago was the big winner of the first edition of PLAY – Portuguese Music Awards – best solo performer, best album and critic’s choice award. In a night that goes beyond the performance of his hits, we will have the chance to get to know better the artist from Algarve.

A Música Portuguesa a Gostar dela Própria

A cine musical creation made from the oral tradition which mixes “bailes mandados” (typical singing and dancing) from the Algarve, the “Chamarrita” (typical singing and dancing) from Azores and the rhythm of the “cantares ao desafio" (challenge singing) from Madeira, in a documented and musical narrative.

A proposal for deconstruct the places’ memory-archive. It will allow the community to review and wonder itself in a recreational space, where they can dance the memory and follow the story.

It is through the audiovisual legacy “Música Portuguesa a Gostar dela Própria” that Tiago Pereira and Sílvio Rosado will be the aesthetic commanders of this “baile mandado” a show that will have the participation of the Algarve’s band Orblua.

A show created for Aljezur’s Castle which presents several historic moments, from the Islamic period to the time when the river was navigable.

The contribution that Aljezur might have had in the beginning of the maritime expeditions is shown as well as the relation between the Castle, the village and its context entrenched of natural and landscape values. These values offer new uses and experiences which should be kept and preserved.
